Excuse me, how did you get my business' information?

We get our information from a well known small business data provider to lots of Internet companies like CitySquares. They're called Localeze and if you find that your information is incorrect your best bet is to contact them because that's where we get our info. They update their database very frequently, so when you tell them about your business you're also telling CitySquares and lots of other websites. Start at Localeze's site here.

 

My business information is incorrect. Not cool! So how do I change it?

You can claim and edit your business for free, which will also give you the option to upgrade to a deluxe business profile. You can claim and edit your profile by clicking the button on the right side of the page that says, "Claim and upgrade this business now!" As a security precaution you must first register as a user to claim a business and make edits. Why should I list my business on CitySquares.com and how do I?

More than 33% of all online searches conducted every day are consumers seeking local goods and services. Small businesses need to reach those consumers in numerous ways. With a CitySquares profile we can guarantee you strong search engine placement, and in most cases provide you with results on page 1, often at the top. This is because our website is extremely search engine optimized. We get millions of people on our website every month, so it's definitely important that you at least have a Free profile on CitySquares. When you upgrade to a Deluxe Profile, you get even more from us and more exposure on the search engines, hence reaching more consumers.

If you're not already listed on CitySquares, adding your business is a snap. Go to our Add a Business page, where you'll also be asked to first create an account. As you type in this form we will automatically search the website for your business. If we find your business, we'll prompt you and you can claim it there. Otherwise, you'll see a button I dont see my business to enter all of your business information. When you have finished entering your information click add my business to create your listing.


How do I add more information to a business like pictures, description, hours, etc.?

You can add tons of information about your business, and all that is extremely well search engine optimized too. You can add unlimited pictures, a link to your website, your logo, descriptions of your business, it's products and services, add your menu, and more. We can even provide you with a call tracking number so you know when people call you as a result of your CitySquares profile. To do all this you'll need to upgrade to a Deluxe Profile. Simply click claim it from the business listing page or click edit me on your profile page.

 

I’m a customer, how do I make changes to my business information?

If you haven't already been given access, the first step is to create a username on the site. Then call your account manager and give them your username, they will be able to give you access. To create a username go here.

 

Can I add a link to my website on my business listing?

Unfortunately, website links are not allowed on free business listings, only on Deluxe Profiles. To insert a website link you will need to upgrade to a Deluxe Profile.

 

How long will it take for search engines like Google and Yahoo! to reflect the changes I made on CitySquares?

Once you're done editing the information, the profile will be immediately updated on the CitySquares.com, but it will take the search engines, like Google and others, a while to catch on. That can sometimes take anywhere from a day all the way up to 30 days. Unfortunately there's no way to guarantee a certain timeframe. But be patient, it will happen.

 

I don't want to be on your site. How do I remove a business listing?

First, if you're no longer in business and you're also finding it's been listed on other sites, it's best to contact Localeze because that's where we, and others, get our data from. If you let Localeze know, they will immediately update their files and then sites like CitySquares will subsequently be notified.

 

You have my private residence listed on CitySquares! How dare you! How do I remove it?

If you discovered a listing on CitySquares.com for a residence, we are very sorry about that! We assure you that the only reason your residencial address is on CitySquares.com is because somehow it seems you ended up in a business directory or a Yellow Pages at some point, and in turn you ended up Localeze's file, and then in ours.We know this stinks, and we're very sensitive to this. We can remove the listing immediately if you Just send an email to removals@citysquares.com and we'll make sure we remove it as soon as possible. Be sure to include a link to the listing so we can be sure we're removing the correct listing. Also, see here to learn more about where we get our data and how to rectify it.

 

Questions that people frequently ask us...

 

Umm, hello, you don't even have my neighborhood on your site! What's up with that?

We have done our best to make sure all of our location information is as accurate as possible, however we do make mistakes sometimes. We're constantly adding new neighborhoods too, so it might even be coming to the site soon. But if you know of a neighborhood in a city that is not listed on our site, please let us know. While we can not guarantee we can get the neighborhood up right away, we will definitely research the validity of the neighborhood and do our best to get it on the site in our next release.

 

CitySquares has my neighborhood wrong. What's wrong with you guys?

If you've found your neighborhood, but there's something wrong with it (like it's misspelled or it's in the wrong city, etc) please let us know and we do whatever we can to get it corrected. We may not be able to do it right away, but we will get to it as soon as possible and make sure it goes live in our next release.

 

How do I leave a review for a business and do other things on CitySquares.com?

To leave reviews you must first create a username. Click create an account at the top right hand corner of the page. To log in click sign in also at the top right hand corner.

 

Why do I need a username and how do I create one?

Because we need to make sure you're not a spammer, or well, we try our best anyway. If we didn't require usernames, we'd have a very hard time keeping up spammers. So creating a username on CitySquares allows us to make sure you're a real person, and so we can maintain some amount of quality for the reviews added to our site. It's pretty basic stuff.

Once you’ve created your username, you can add more information about yourself, upload a picture and even send other users messages. Registering for a username helps us to prevent people from creating spam business profiles and otherwise inputting bad data. You can check out more on our Privacy Policy for more information.


How do I go to a different city or state on CitySquares.com?

You can change which city and state you’re browsing by using the drop down box at the top left hand side of the page.

How do I find my neighborhood?

You can navigate the site a few different ways. The quickest way to find your neighborhood is to begin typing it in the search field at the top of the page.

Another way to find your neighborhood is to look at the list of neighborhoods next to the map on the top of the page.

Click “more neighborhoods” in the lower right hand corner to see more neighborhoods.
